Officer Robert A. Kozminski Memorial Scholarship

Established by the Grand Rapids Community College Foundation and the Family of Officer Kozminski

The Scholarship

This renewable scholarship is be awarded to a student at Grand Rapids Community College whose career goal is law enforcement and attends the Police Academy. The student is selected by the parents of Officer Kozminski, Mr and Mrs. Richard Kozminski. The first year's tuition at Grand Rapids Community College is paid in full for the recipient. Scholarships recipients who achieve a 3.0 grade point average or better have their second year fully funded, as well.

The family of Robert (Bobby) Kozminski established this scholarship in the hope that Bobby's memory and sacrifice will always be kept alive in the city that he served and protected for seven years. It is an honor to help potential police officers receive a quality education at Grand Rapids Community College, where Bobby was a Police Academy graduate before his career as a public servant with the Grand Rapids Police Department.

The initial funding of this scholarship was raised at the 1st Annual Bob Kozminski Memorial Classic golf outing that was held in September, 2007. This year we will be celebrating our tenth year.
